In Nov of 2019 I earned my 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher Certificate. I did it because I wanted to deepen my yoga practice, and I was open-minded about where it might lead me. Then, the pandemic happened and I didn’t do anything but get my own practice in for a few years. Regular yoga practice always helps me come back to myself, and has helped me get through some seriously stressful times in my life.
At the beginning of 2022 my friend and yoga teacher Jackie asked me if I wanted to do a workshop - and in blending 2 things I love (Restorative Yoga + Essential Oils) I created a really lovely relaxing experience to help people get out of their heads, into their most relaxed selves, and teach them about a few essential oils in the process. I offer workshops 1-2 times a month, depending on my schedule.
ABOUT RESTORATIVE YOGA + ESSENTIAL OILS
In restorative yoga we hold poses for longer amounts of time. We are fully supported, fully propped and aim to fully relax in each pose. The goal is for both a deeper stretch and to elicit the relaxation response. You should have no pain in these poses, and should be as fully relaxed as you are able to be. We hold each pose for several minutes.
I combine essential oils with these postures to enhance the experience of being in the present moment. We only use Young Living Essential Oil blends because they are pure and responsibly sourced. While you sample the oil, I provide a little bit of education about its history and use, along with research data when it’s available.
